67 wpm, 0 errors.

I used to work at a relay call center for the deaf and my typing speed was well over 100 wpm back then. But that was 8 years ago. I'm rusty.

wpm world record holder. fastest clocked, 212wpm.

Didn't you see Lonyos post up there? Clearly HIS is the world record! It's not like an ATOTer would ever make up some giant, retarded lie to impress us all.

God I hate how people's sense of the truth just evaporates on the Internet. Get bent Lonyo.

Why get so bent out of shape for something so damn trivial?

I'm not bent out of shape, settle down McGee. I just think it's pathetic how many ATOTers, especially the lifers, are so desperate for attention and praise that they'll resort to obvious, pathetic lies to get it.

That was with backspacing to correct every error as I saw it occur... I want to learn Dvorak but don't have the time to devote to it!

Without cheating, I got 140wpm with 6 errors and the second was 145 with 5 errors. The silly buttons throw me off. I should be able to hit 160 or so with these types of tests.

70wpm, 1 error

This reminds me of my basic computers class in high school, the entire class was about using MS Word, Powerpoint, Excel, and being able to find info online. We also did a typing test at the beginning of the year, and the teacher had everybody raise their hands for the bracket their speed was in. Almost everybody in the class was in either the 10-19-wpm range or the 20-29 wpm range, with a few in the 30-39 range. After asking about the 30-39 range the teacher asked if anybody had scored higher, I was the only one to raise my hand, I think the class freaked out a bit when I said I had scored 62wpm.

114 WPM / 0 errors

I think in school we took off 5 or maybe 10 WPM per error, as a penalty and as encouragement to do it right the first time.

My speed has really gone down, when I was in high school I started at about 120 and worked up to around 180 WPM.

A friend of mine has the House of the Dead typing game for the Dreamcast, I obliterated that game on the hardest difficulty. It's an adaptive game, too, so eventually it wasn't even using English anymore. It was throwing phrases in German and Spanish at me by the last level! It was awesome.

Edit: And like others have pointed out, having to push the buttons does decrease your score a little, but everyone's score is decrease by approximately the same amount (those who take longer are still within uncertainty of the score)
