How many wish Gateway would release a 24" monitor?

The Gateway 21" looks very attractive, but I would love to see a 24" model that has 1920x1200 resolution so we can play HDTV at full resolution on it. I know the 2405 is available, but I have read so many issues with lag that I am hesitant to consider that as an option. Any one hear if Gateway plans to release a 24"? I'm sure it would become a number one seller.

Well, yes me too, but right now I'm getting impatient. I would love EITHER company to release a new 24 inch. Without lag issues or high pitched whines of course!!

I can't afford the video card required to easily power a 24" LCD @ native resolution...so i'm not too impatient yet :p

I can never go back to a CRT after using LCD.

My neighbor has the Gateway 21" WS and it is BEAUTIIIIIIFUL.

I jsut wish I had $600 to drop on it.

I wish they'd hurry up and release a SED or OLED monitor. There's absolutely nothing about LCD's that impresses me.

Agreed, minus space consumed and weight of monitor. I'm almost considering a used FW-900 for $400, but I'd have a heck of a time carrying that thing over to my desk. Actually, my desk would probably cave in from the weight! :p

I'm waiting for SED/OLED myself as well. I do have an LCD though (2005FPW), and I'm quite happy with it - and while it might be nice to have a larger monitor at some point, I don't think I'd want to sink $700+ into a 2405FPW (or 3 times that for a 3007) while newer and (supposedly) greatly superior display technologies loom on the horizon.

The only problem with that is, they'd actually have to use the SED/OLED technology in consumer devices instead of just releasing periodic press releases telling us how cool it is...

This outstanding 2070 will hold me over until one of the new display technologies comes out. Don't really care about LCDs unless maybe if those glass coating ones become more mainstream and lower priced.

I definitely would like to see Gateway release a 24" model! Infact, the resolution of the 21" is the only thing currently holding me back. It would be great competition, and would give us consumers more options.

There are some OLED screens appearing on MP3 players and mobiles already and they look like shat. You just never saw a decent LCD.. me neither till I found one in sig.

Anyway Don't expect them till 2007 at earliest, then hella expensive like all new tech. Too much vested in LCD and it gets better all the time.
