What's the total number of electoral votes? I took my poli sci courses 2 years ago and can't remember a thing.

Yea, Prolly 539. They need 270 to win, which would be the majority of 539.

I think prodigy69 is right, because you need 270 to win this year. 270+269=539... although I thought there was a possibility of a tie, so maybe there are 538 and you would have to win by two.

It's not just senators + representatives, is it? For some reason, the number 484 comes to mind for the total number of electoral votes?

Sheesh, it's 538. 100 senators+435 representatives+3 for Washington DC. Half of 538 is 269, plus 1 to make it a majority.
