I took 7 tests, 6 full year courses.

Junior year: US History, Chemistry
Senior: Comp Sci A (joke), English Lit, Calc AB, Macroeconomics/Microeconomics (1/2 year each)

Got a 5 on US, a 4 on Chem. Waiting on the others, but almost sure of two 5's on the Econ tests, and fairly sure of a 5 on Comp Sci.

Oh yeah, and out of all this, I will only get credit for a general arts and letters course, and probably for Calc I (nearly 100% sure I got at least a 4 on Calc AB). Comp Sci is nothing, Econ gets me nothing that my 5 in US History already has, and English Lit will only allow me to take an honors version of the Freshman writing seminar, not get my English requirment out of the way. A 5 in Chem would have given me credit for the Engineering Chemistry requirment, but a 4 only gives me credit for a lower level Chem course which doesn't fullfill the Engineering requirment. Sucks. :(

For those who took more than 10 AP classes:

What college did you go to?

Just wondering:confused:

6. Just started taking them in junior year. Completely worthless for college, but the classes themselves were certainly more interesting and the classmates usually a little less grating. AP physics was by far my favorite.

A more informative question would be which colleges did you get into and which did you get rejected from. I went to UNC.

That was the beauty of my county, Miami-Dade. While mostly our county is among the worst in the country, there are a few good schools and programs. The one "diamond in the rough" of the county was that they paid for any AP tests when you took the class.

I took AP Physics in 9th grade, and got a 5. Gotta love those ghetto schools. Let you take AP's whenever you want ;)

Geez, whats up with taking all these AP classes? they're pretty much worthless imo

I took AP Econ, AP Physics C, AP Lit, and AP Composition. And I still got in those "elite" schools.

Uhm, American Gov't? Don't ask me to dig it up; this was like 3-4 years ago.

I took 9 AP classes:
4 Jr. year and 5 Sr. year.
'Course I'm such a big nerd I took 12 double semester credit tests ;)

I also took 6 IB tests (4 higher level). For those that don't know about those, they're even harder than the AP tests. I figure, if you know your stuff, why not just take the test on the off-chance that you do well? (Got one 4 and the rest 5's)

Of course some people in this thread raised the point that even if you take that many, they might not be useful to you. That is sort of true... since I'm an engineer only the math and science count toward my degree, and the histories, englishes, and foreign languages can only be used for so much. I still would take the same classes over again. I've never regretted taking a harder course, because you can learn so much more than in regular courses. That is the point of school right, to learn? ;)

I will admit though, the IB exams were probably a waste of time and effort.

Screw AP, I had 33 Community College Credits by the time I graduated HS (my high school and CC paired up together and offered Dual Enrolled classes, where I took the class at school, and recieved credit for both institutions). AP classes are for whimps!!!!

I did take AP biology, but didn't take the AP test because I had already earned my Biology credit for the community college.

he took a few AP courses and a bunch of college courses offered in high school.

How so? You get a full college credit so that you can graduate faster and save ton of money.

depends on you. let's say you take all these ap's but you don't know what you want to do. so you spend your time exploring. but you already had a year's worth of units so you get screwed out of a year. it really hurts in some schools that REALLY limit your time there, like UCLA now, whom is really worried about overcrowding.

They will gladly reject me this coming term. HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOO RIVERSIDE!

I had two, which is exactly half the number that my school offered. Took English Lit and Calc, both of which I got 5's on this year (still trying to figure out where that Calc score came from, they must have weighted it pretty heavily this year).
