Whoa! That is nuts. Some of those truck drivers were like suicidal. I'm turning in front of you big tractor trailer guess you better stop and of course they can't. The ones that swerve and miss the pedestrians are pretty damn good drivers though.

I'm in the same boat as you two now. Once you accumulate enough miles you realize that everyone is an idiot and let them do stupid things all the while protecting yourself.

It's fairly easy to tell if someone wants to get in front of you. I used to speed up to close the gap years ago... Now I don't bother wasting the gas. I even let off the accelerator now to create a better situation for me. I time my acceleration so that I don't speed to red lights and keep up with traffic on the highway.

I never understood why people raced their cars to the next stop sign or red light.

The most dangerous thing I do now is lane changes from a slower lane. I merge within a foot of the passing vehicle from habit. It irks the person I'm merging behind for a few seconds.

I also don't signal more than two flashes for lane changes since I only change lanes where there is enough space.
