How many times does UPS attempt delivery?

I had a package coming to my apartment yesterday but I'm back home. I told my roommate to be home but he has shafted me yesterday and today. That makes 2 attempted deliveries already.

3 attempts, then they hold it at the terminal for a week or so before sending it back to the sender I think

1, they always leave it no matter what you want them to do it seems.

After the first delivery attempt you can call them and arrange a pickup if that's more convenient for you.
