I think you are clueless.

People fall into categories easily...you search long and hard enough you are bound to find true love several times.

It all depends on you views of polygamy on how many you keep around at once.

I have learned looooong ago, no matter what I think I lost, true love is just around the corner.

i am FAR from clueless.
i guess the topic of what "true love" actually is is open for debate. but i think it is defined as unconditional.

Before you can classify love, you must know that love is illogical, and thus unclassifiable. To try and assign catagories to love means that you must have a definition of love, and as love's definition changes from person to person, it is impossible to have an accurate classification of love.

Edit: spelling

5x in one night is my record. ;) Kidding...

Mmm, if you are a romantic, only once.

I'd like to believe that. But, I think there is more than one match for everyone. CAVEAT: I believe if you found a match--then I don't believe that there is reason to believe that another is going to be any better. Every realationship will have it's ups/downs/good/bad... so, you gotta work at it. I dunno though, I'm happy with match #1 so hopefully I never have to find out if I'm right or wrong.

How can you quantify a condition that can't be quantified? Isn't the quantification of "true love" the same as asking how many times I'll meet God?

That being said, I'll say 'n' times.

BTW, when it's one of those, I just broke up and am devestated things, you have to convince yourself that person wasn't the one. Or stalk them. ;)

Robert Heinlein had (or at least wrote) some interesting ideas on the subject. His books advocated polyamory and the idea that true love only multiplies, never diminishes.

Unconditional...?

Only for my daughter. And my mother, since I had my daughter. As for every other person on the planet... well, not unconditional. hurt me badly enough and I will close my heart and life to that person. End of story.

As for how many times you can be "in love" ... I am not sure. To me it seems that being "in love" is something that lasts for the first 6-8 months of a relationship then either fades altogether or grows into something much deeper. I do believe, however that a person can be "in love" more than just once in a lifetime and with more than one person in a lifetime.

:)

Let's define and seperate some terms real quick. Love does not equal relationship does not equal sex.

Love: Self-actualized love would probably be defined as wanting the highest good for the other person while keeping your own well-being in consideration. i.e. CARING for them.

Relationship: A relationship would probably be defined as a mutual agreement between two persons to have and acknowledge a commitment and exclusiveness to each other as far as affectionate feelings and actions are concerned.

Sex: Actual sex and foreplay and such.

So now that we have some definitions, can you explain your question a little better, moshquerade?

ups

I've left the murky waters of the Comal and the Guadalupe, for the lustrous currents of the Shenandoah. Thats love.
