consoles: i have most of em, i have no idea why..i rarely play a single game anymore.
hdtv, what a goddamn waste of money that was.staring at my ****** cable signal in distorted 16:9 format.
boxes and boxes and boxes of old video games and computer parts that have virtually zero value, why am i holding onto this stuff?
what about you.

I bought a tape deck with the stereo for making car tapes. Maybe used it five times in four years.

Because you're deep down still a geek, and at some point you know you'll love giving some of them a whirl.

ahh those were the days.dubbing on the XL II90's
piracy was rampant but i never remeber it being talked about, same with vhs.
it was almost a given that people who rented movies would just record em,along with songs off the radio..it was really a skill to click at just the right time.getting all the transitions tight.

Brand new xbox.... never opened never used with brand new games, that have never been opened or used.

PS2 with about 40 games, only 1 of which has been opened. Played FFX for 1 weekend, didn't beat it yet. Haven't turned back on since.

Portable DVD player.

My 20" TV

My 32" very occasionally gets a work out.

My Home theatre sound system very rarely gets a work out.

My corolla just sits there. I forgot to turn it on for about 3 weeks though and now it doesn't start anymore =/

Dreamcast I've played once.

actually. I have too many to list now that I start thinking about it. If it's any consolation, most of the "big stuff" I got really cheap or even free so not using them doesn't seem like that big of a waste. It's the ones I spent a lot of money on and get no use out of that feel like a waste.

I have a computer and monitor in my closet upstairs waiting for me to install Tie Fighter on it to fulfill my dream of playing Tie Fighter on a huge screen that I've had for about a decade.

Hmm ... I use all of my gadgets, toys, etc.
However, i don't use all of them often, and I also don't use all of the features of them sometimes.

My Yamaha reciever is capable of 6.1, but I only have 5.1 speakers hooked up
My second fastest PC is off about 90% of the time, but I use it for lans and as a backup box. So it's very nice to have around.

I heard that........just dumped a bunch of stuff on ebay the last two weeks........and have a load at a local auction house going under the hammer this Thursday. Lots of PC games, some new electronic gadgets I bought very cheap and never opened, Coca-Cola clocks, Fire King china, odd collectibles and old tools, etc., etc.

If we don't use them in 6 months or so, out they go. Of course, as my wife would be glad to tell you, what moves out is replaced by more "junk" fairly quickly......

As for old computer parts.....just hate throwing them out. Seems as fast as I pitch them, I suddenly need them.

We have two Dreamcasts with a box of games. One of the Dreamcasts has a rare broadband adapter. I got all the Dreamcast stuff because I was really excited about booting it in linux and getting online with the broadband adapter.

I did that once. Boy was that exciting. *snore*. Now it mostly all sits in a box.

I don't use my HDTV much right now, but as soon as I setup my home theater (started working on it about 2 days ago), then I'm going to connect my PC via DVI and play movies in 1080I goodness (okay 1080I isn't all that great, but it's better than the cable signal.

I have two 19' LCD's that I hardly ever use, got my main rig hooked up to my HDTV running Media center so no real need for the LCD's on a regular basis anymore.

Interested in parting with that Broadband adapter? :D

The only tech thing I have laying around that I haven't used in a loooooong ass time is my first CD burner. Mitsumi 4802TE 4x CD-RW of glory. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it.
