For those of you who wear suits to work every day: How many...

...do you have?
...different colors/shades do you have?
...styles do you have?

And how many do you think you need?

Alright, let's open this to people who don't wear suits to work every day...I'll start:

I own two suits
One black and one dark gray w/pin stripes
Both are the same style--single-breasted, two-button, split collar, etc.

i don't even wear them to work every day and i have 4

if i could manage to score a ticket to southeast asia i'd probably get 2 or 3 more.

i've got your standard navy two button
a dark gray two button
a navy and pinstripes double breasted
a dark gray 3 button (with no vent and only one pleat in the pants, nice and slimming)

this does not apply to me x3

haven't had to wear a suit on a regular basis since I was in high school. heh.

I've only got one suit in my closet right now... wore it once to a wedding about a year and a half ago and haven't put it on since.

I think we're on the same wavelength...I'm currently in Southwest Asia and am thinking about getting 3 or so...maybe more...

Problem is that I can't think of other colors besides black or dark gray or other styles beyond the generic single-breasted, two-button, split collar, etc. :(

I'm a lawyer, so I have to wear a suit at least a couple times a week (My office does not require you to wear a suit unless you have a hearing, a deposition, a meeting or if someone important is coming to the office).

Four: one blue pin-striped, one black, one grey and one kinda off green.

don't get a black suit unless you're a pal bearer. or maybe an undertaker.

get a 3 button. get different types of pinstripes. get it cut for slim appearance. get 2 pairs of pants to go with the jacket, as those tend to need cleaning more often.

as my boss says, there are 5 shades of gray: undertaker gray, lawyer gray, banker gray, accountant gray, and used car sales man gray. i assume you can figure out which is the darkest and which is the lightest.

I've about 8-9 suits. I don't hardly wear it. Leftover from my corporate days.

Now I wear old t-shirt and shorts to work.

I've never ever worn a suit to work except for interviews:eek:

for msot of my career I've basically long-sleeved dress shirts.....Geofrrey beene, gap, van hueson, Izod.....nothing extravagant....

and for pants slacks from the likes of gap, dockers...etc...

that's until I started my current job (which I am currently in negotiations with my boss to keep)

Wow, so what did you do to differentiate between the suits?

No, that's not true, I still have the one I bought for my interview. Haven't worn in since (6+ years ago.) Doubt it still fits.

I haven't worked in 13 years but I had 15 suits all in conservative style.

I have hundreds of neckties which probably cost more than the suits. You'd play h3ll getting me in to one today.

Easy. Different style, color, shade, etc.

I have no less than 28 pairs of dress shoes, which would go with any of my suits. I have at least 4 times the number of suits, as I have shoes. My ties, are rather limited, however. I also have far fewer belts, than I have shoes.
