I'd like to apologize to the OP for the 2 useless replies.

Check cdfreaks.com. They've done reviews on both drives, and have listed the sheep counts on both.

Update: Ok, looks like both drives are 1 sheep. They just don't make 'em like they used to. Those older Lite-On CDRWs are 3 sheeps.

sheep refers to the recorders ability to write copy protections.

No DVD writer these days is any good at copy protections. I keep a spare Phillips 8x for just that reason.
