I ran W2K pro for the last six months with 128Mb. Everything was fine, but in anticipation of moving to AdvServer, I ordered another stick of 128Mb (total 256Mb). It made a bit of a difference. Especially for my server and games. Q3a works much smoother now. Now I'm hoping that 256Mb is enough for W2k AdvServer.

I have 128 meg and I have never felt I needed more. Couple months back there was a comparison between 128 and 256 meg somewhere(forgot). And game doesn't run faster with 128 meg.

I am running Adv Terminal Server on my PII 366 Mhz Laptop with 128 MB Ram and it works just fine.

Sure things get slow when I start ALL Services includes SQL Server 2000, Exchange 2000, etc but if I shut down Exchange then everything is fine.

If you are going to run Windows 2000 Professional or even Server but don't have a lot of load (like I have) then 128 MB is more than enough.

I would say 128 is the minimum to get everything running smoothly... but of course the more the better... :)
