I deliver as a second job on the weekends... if I could I'd happily walk away from my tech support job to just deliver pie!

So how many are there? I know of two not including myself... and for fun what?s the most you've made in one night of delivering? My best so far is 69 deliveries for $290 tips and commission.

I have more respect for my car than allowing it to become some delivery machine.

No I would never do that but I have beaten the sh|t out of a two liter of pop before in hopes of it exploding in someone?s face... and just to let you know we no longer deliver to the person I did that to because she called the manager and bitched one too many times.

No more then 10 bucks worth... my delivery area is U of M central campus the longest run I will go out on is 3 miles round trip... most runs are four or five blocks down the road. Hell the other night I ran a delivery on foot cause it was three doors down from the store, now that laziness!!

I used to deliver pizza, back when minimum wage was $3.35, x 10 hours = $33.50 salary +$150.00 in tips & commission.

I delivered pizza on foot during spring break in Daytona Beach, this is an experience that words can not accurately convey.

I delivered pizza in cocoa beach Florida, average run was 10 miles round trip, one day I went out on a delivery and looked east a saw the shuttle lifting off so I put the delivery on hold and watched :D

Back in the day the pizza drivers had metal hot boxes that they were required to use while delivering, these metal boxes had a big can of sterno burning in a compartment in the back, one driver got out, flipped his seat forward, took the pizza out, and when he flipped the seat back it hit the spray nozzle on an aerosol can (starter fluid I think) he went to the apartment to make his delivery and when he came back his car was an inferno.

Also, back in the day, the signs we had to put on our roof were bigass metal things that weighed 20 pounds and had wires with clamps on them to hook to the car battery.

Heres a good one, the drivers would always leave their cars running in front of the store, one saturday afternoon a driver says to another "Hey, whos that in your car?" as the car peels away, the two drivers run out and get in a car and start chasing the guy, about five minutes later we start getting calls from all over town about two of our cars driving like phsychos, hopping curbs, crossing medians, wrong way on an off ramp, they didnt get the car back that day.

UMMM..... Hmm, oh yeah, the pissed customer bitching about his hour late pizza who comes down to the store with a baseball bat and starts banging it on the counter............

Pizzas falling off the sides at the end of the conveyor oven when the damn thing gets backed up and wont fking stop!

The driver who kicked out the glass front door cause he was flipping out about having 50 one hour old deliveries to make

The driver who didnt want to be robbed AGAIN so he beat the sht out of the guy.

And finally, the store that got robbed by four guys with UZZIS (that how it was told to me, probably tech 9's) one week after I quit.

Hehehe, no, I am not a pizza delivery driver, thanks for helping me remember why :D

I deliver for Papa John's. It was my first job, and I've still got it through college :) It's been about 2 and half years since i started, and I love it. The best I've ever made in one day of delivering was 120 bucks, on 25 deliveries (our delivery is HUGE, about 40 miles by 30). I make $6.03 an hour, so I usually average $250 a week from my hourly pay, and around 250 a week in tips. I'm the top driver at our store.

My car hasn't taken much of a beating, other than the 23k miles I've put on it in less than a year. It's a 1998 Nissan 200sx, so I usually average around 30 miles per gallon driving in town an on our highways. I haven't had a problem yet, other than maintenence issues.

how much does a full time pizza delivery driver make a year? (at a major pizza place)

how much is spent per day/month on gas?

can you easily hide the tips received from the government to aovid taxes on them?

I'd say anywhere from 18k-22k, all depends on the demographics of your delivery area and what chain your working for (the cheap ones get cheap customers, the expensive ones get generous customers, ususally).

A tank of gas costs me around 18 bucks, and last usually 3-4 days.

I don't claim tips at all, and haven't had a problem yet.

The main guy that used to work at the store im at now claimed he made over 50k a year!! I believe him too, he put in 50hrs a week and always worked the closing shift. For the month of November I took home over $1700 and I only work Sat and Sun!!

Sounds familiar. I had one of those sterno cans catch the car i was driving(not my own) on fire once. Not cool!

I could make some pretty good tips about the 1st month the collage kids came back to school with mom & dad's $$$. They'd give you a $10-$20 tip at first but once it starts to run out you'd only get a buck or two outta them.

It was fun while it lasted, get invited to parties after work etc.
