Other than the pillows you sleep with, how many pillows are on your bed when it is made?

We have 7 extra pillows :(

Approximately 7 were bought by my wife ;)

I sleep with 1, my wife with 2, and there are at least 6 pillows on the bed when it is made.

I have six, mainly because I got a new bed and am trying to figure out the combination that makes me comfortable.

there are 2 for sleeping and 4 more for when the bed is made.

i just toss them in the corner unless my wife is home. i don't even make the bed if she's not around.

Holy crap. What is the point of that? If I ever get married and my wife buys that many, I'm stacking them all on her side. One pillow is enough for me.

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too many is what I always say, but it never makes a difference. 6 usually when it's made... 4 when we are sleeping.

There's like 5 on my bed. I'm not married :( I used to share a bed with my little brother. In the winter, we fought for blankets, not for pillows ;)

you can't do that on or near the special pillows. those are the rules.

who cares, as long as she makes the bed she can have as many pillows as she wants, as long as it doesn't deter from her duties in the kitchen

I put my foot down on this one - only the pillows that are actually used while sleeping may be on the bed (3). I find it sort of ridiculous when we visit the inlaws that the pillow count reaches as many as eight (!) on a single bed. I could understand if they added utility, but you *have* to take them all off the bed before you go to sleep, and replace them in the morning.

just the pillows that I sleep with (2 king-sized pillows... I've been thinking about getting a third, though. seems like the bottom pillow inevitably gets sucked into that space between where my mattress ends and my headboard begins every night)

Any women who put 38 pillows on the bed care to chime in? What's the point?

If I use a pillow, by morning my neck hurts, which gives me a headache that tends to last most of the day.

Ah, now I see why the extra pillows may be useful. I was about to ask what possible use so many pillows might have.

Only two. She's an incredibly practical female, I love her. Sometimes she gets excited over those "throw pillows" that serve absolutely no purpose, but then she comes right back down to Earth. You know the ones, the pillows with plastic beads attached to them, the ones that you're not allowed to actually lean against or sit on, but simply look at? Yeah, those ones. I hate those. I've managed to keep her from buying them, even after 5 1/2 years. Or perhaps she's managed to keep herself from buying them. We probably both deserve the credit! :p

The only girlie foo-foo things that she does are makeup (very subtle), and she likes to wear sun-dresses whenever possible (over 50 degrees outside). Otherwise, she's one of the guys.
