How many people work in a distance location from where they live?

Just curious, I have an opportunity to do that and am not sure if i can handle it.

I mean like unable to come home until friday or saturday......like 250 miles

I live 18 miles from work, but in the Silicon Valley that is a LONG 18 miles. It takes me a little over an hour to get to work.

I have an 80 mile round trip to work. It's not so bad when school is out. It SUCKS when it rains or snows. Oh, and I live on Long Island...TRAFFIC!

Around here, a lot of people commute to the nearest city (50 miles away) to work. That's a long drive.

Ouch, I've never had to do that but I imagine it'd be very hard. drive 250 miles home on Fri night and then have to go back on Sun. I wouldn't recommend it. Is it possible for you to move closer to the job?

i beat everyone, 174.3 miles roundtrip. thank goodness, i now live at my buddies house. it would take me over 3 hours daily. needless to say, i developed some road rage because of it. help me?

My brother did it for a while. He and the wife wanted to move away from Richmond (Va), and they found a house in Greenville, SC. For a while, my brother had to continue working his job in Richmond, until he found work locally in SC. It was about a 6-7 hour drive every Friday evening and Sunday evening. He hates his job in SC now, but he likes it better than not seeing his family during the week.

I used to have a 35 mile commute, but that's down to 10 miles now, and I am hoping to cut that to about 50 feet before too long. Commuting sucks.
