Right. And why bother traveling anywhere? I mean, there are pictures of any sight you want to see on the internet.So the whole point is to basically SEE the eclipse. There's nothing special about it actually occurring, so whats the point of actually experiencing it live?
Just look at some of the photos people will inevitably upload taken with DSLR cameras across the US. They will look way better than whatever view you will get as you stare up into the sky hoping you don't blind yourself.

In my car front windshield, the very top strip has a factory tint.
On top I got a strip of 20% tint. So it's very dark. You can make out the sun faintly through the double layer during sunset.
I'll also wear sunglasses. Theae 3 arent prob enough.
