Have one in one of my computers but not the other. I never use the thing, if I need something on a disk I can always email it, or I can just put it on a cd-rw.

I would venture to say probably 90%. I use a USB Floppy or CD on the Rigs I see that don't

I only use it when I need to flash the BIOS but I might switch that to CDs soon because of floppy's volatility.

I still have one and I used it to copy a file to my friends Win98 machine in order to fix it. But most of the time I either use the network or my jump drive to transfer files.

Same but I also use my floppy to reprogram my videocard's BIOS and to load the SATA drivers for my motherboard when installing WinXP.

I have one in each of my computers(2) & the oldest one is about 7 years old and still going strong,it has seen many BIOS flashing updates.

that's about all they're used for.
i whip out the floppy every-time i need to do something like that and connect it.. otherwise it just sits in my drawer, i don't want the clutter in my case.. LOL

CraigRT, use a rounded single-device FDD cable to eliminate the clutter of having a FDD. That's how I did it. :)

I have one in one of my computers, it's used pretty much exclusively for making OpenBSD boot floppys.
That is, it's used about as often as I feel the need to upgrade an OpenBSD box, which isn't too often ;)

On my most recent build, I entertained not installing a floppy drive, but then I decided that when I need it I won't have it, because that is my luck. So I have one in all three of my rigs, and have not used one in at least a year. I do all my bios flashes with the new windows flashes.

I have one in each of all my machines. I see no reason for desktop machines not to have one. They're as cheap as a meal from McDonalds and they don't slow down your computer by having one.

I had to think about it, because its been a fair while since I've used it, but yes. For the £4 it costs, its not worth not having one...

Still have one in all my boxes. Makes BIOS flashes and loading RAID drivers easy.
