How many people playing Battlefield 2?

Anyone have a reputable news/gaming website that has the stats on how many people are playing battlefield 2?

Or maybe a recent copies sold count? I know it was 1 million back in August, but I want a recent number.

Edit: Actually i just remembered that bfhq (the ingame stat thing) says theres 1,050,045 Player that are ranked. Not sure why the big difference but I would go with the BFHQ.

Thanks, I would have checked BFHQ myself, but my family issues cause my internet to be out till tomarrow... I'm on a laptop, jacking my neighboors wireless just to post and check e-mail/get my research info.

the reason why there's a huge gap between BFHQ and bf2 is perhaps that a lot of ppl keep more than one account, and the ones that are ranked must have at least 100 pts, some ppl just never use their second account (if they have one)

Some people dont play on the ranked server's, and arent ranked through BFHQ. Ranked servers tend to laggy, so more people will play unranked.

Go by the ranked number. People who get caught using exploits or cheat are no longer listed on the ranked, and yes there are a lot of people who did that.
