just curious... i might get to do a little research on that project this summer. polishing brass gauges and whatnot...

I didn't realize it was steam powered. Someone out there (in WWW land) has recently built a working model. Google is your friend.

What a silly question. Hardly anyone outside of CS would have any clue what a Turing Machine is.

I've heard of the Turing test, but what is the turing machine?

for everyone who is lost.

turing test : series of tests supposed to take a "blackbox" that answers questions and see if it is human or not. , in laymans terms, think of an AIM chat bot, but you arent sure if its a bot or a real person. the test is to see if its real or not, or if a machine can fool you into thinking its real.

turing machine: one of those wannabe chat bots.

also other cs majors correct me if i'm wrong as i got a D- in AI. i never went to class, just read the book. so i may have interpreted that wrong.

well duh, this question was clearly intended for those that actually knew what a turing machine was in the first place.
