I've seen maybe 1 since they came out. My friend in New York (state, not city) drives one.

Fairly common in Kansas City. Not an everyday site, but its no longer something new to see one driving around.
It doesnt help that I drive by the dealership every day and someone in my subdivision owns one so I see them alot through those two reasons.

I've seen 3-4 WRX's and an STi here in Portland, OR.

Probably somewhere in the vicinity of 25,000-35,000 people.

I'd have to look up actual sales...the above is just a number pulled from me butthole.

I see a lot of them here in Columbus, Ohio, but numbers probably vary depending on how big the local Subarus dealers are.

Yeh, I must say that you could walk out onto the street and pick one going by in a few seconds.

I think they have becom very common over the years.

In 2002, Subaru sold 38,000 Imprezas in the US. 23,000 of those were WRX's.

There are tons of them in the Twin Cities, and I've seen my fair share down in here in Tulsa as well. I'd say Subaru's doing quite well with the WRX/STI :)

I live in a city of just over 40,000 people. I've seen probably about 12 here and 2 STi's.

Just to add to this: I live in Canada too. A reason I there might be so many here is that fancy Mitsubishi Lancer isn't for sale here yet... so there is only 1 High performance AWD out there now. (Well, 2 if you count the Aztec! :D )

getting to be fairly common. I still don't know why one would want to drive an oversized lawnmower around though. :D
