WITHOUT using a strategy guide

I just realized that it was the only game that I've ever played and not come close to beating.
that game was so hard

1st time, yes. Second time, where all the dungeons are switched around and the final level with Ganon is changed around, no.

Both Quests w/out using a strategy guide.

I needed help on how to get through the castle at the end of Zelda 2 :(

i have only beat Link to the Past without a strategy guide. I never finished the original Zelda, I never played Zelda 2, I needed a strategy guide for Ocarina of Time and I never finished Majora's Mask. I have never played Wind Waker. I also have never beat Link's Awakening.

Have you ever played lufia? or something like that. The puzzles are freakin' ridicilous, (Move red stone seven blocks up, blue down four then 3 left, purple spin 18 times...etc)

Faria was a pain in the ass as well. I can't even pass the first castle.

I beat the original way back in like 1987 or something. Took me a good 3 months to do it. No strategy guide.

Never beat Link to the Past.

I saw a friend absolutely go freaking nuts playing this game, he broke multiple controlers and the console.....The whole time he kept screaming it's cheating, it's cheating....funny stuff.... He did end up beating it though...I couldn't

I can't say that I have beaten it as I've never played it. I've never had to use a strategy guide to beat a Zelda game, though. Ah, good memories. The Zelda series has to be my favorite in video games.

As far as Lufia goes, I can remember beating Lufia II with I was 10.. that was a pretty sweet game.

zelda 2 was a WAY hard game...

as a kid the cartrage wouldn't save my game so I would have to play through the game in one sitting. I got the the last castle several times, but only once was I able to get to gannon, and even then I never killed him :(
