How many people are probing your PC?

Just checked the logs on my D-Link DI-704 router w/switch firewall. I have more than 200 attempts just for yesterday. I traced them using nslook. Some are from AOL, etc.. some are unrecognized. Is this something I should be worried about?

i have about 250 various probes per day, but a significant amout of them come from @home's INTERNAL server checking system, which checks users' account for open server ports indicative of running servers (which they allow but don't like).

I have a few from Roadrunner but the majority are defintely not from them. theres this pesky one from pacific.net.sg thats always there. How good are these routers/firewalls anyway? I checked mine at GibsonResearch, it seems fine according to them but I just want to make sure.

Just get Black Ice Defender and the next time someone probes you permanantly block that IP if youre suspicious

why not just use free zone alarm which is the best rated software firewall anyway? It blocks EVERYTHING (.)

It's even rated better than several hardware firewalls.

RanDum72, I ran a router similar to yours once and also had Zone Alarm as a secondary wall. But I never did get any hits to ZA behind the router. You should be safe enough.
