Also there are bar shoot glasses, (the kind bartenders use) that are 1 and 1/4OZ on one side and the other side is 3/4oz. They are used to pour/mix drinks...
Here's a list of standard bar measurements. According to this source, "A "shotglass" is usually 1.5 ounces, but sometimes 2 ounces with a measuring line at 1.5 ounces. You can also buy (in US) "short shot" glasses or "pony shots" which are 1 ounce."
Webtender.com is a really cool site in general. All you hafta do is tell the Webtender what you have in your refrigerator or bar, and it'll generate a list of all the drinks you can make! 😎
Bars I have owned set their own standards for how much to include in a drink
You can buy automatic pourers that go up from like 3/4 ounce up
In Fl there was no regulation on how much a shot should be
I imagine there are states where the shot size is regulated 😉
ok cool, im thinking of watching the big lebowski with a few friends next week and everytime "the dude" has a white russian, we'll have one too hehe, ive heard its 1 part kahlua, 1.5 part vodka and 1.5 part milk... sound good?
