I have a VCR, because when I was moving, the cable input for the TV got knocked off. So, I run the cable through the VCR, instead of buying a new TV.

I have one but stopped using it since we got Tivo. The only thing I ever used it for prior to that was taping Formula One races.

I have one because I have about 100 kids movies on VHS and there is no way I'm spending $1500 to replace them all with DVD's.

I have a ReplayTV and a DVD player in both my living room and my bedroom. I do have a VCR in the bedroom but it is almost never used, only if I am recording something for a friend or in the unlikely event of needing to record 3 shows at once.

I have one VCR and one TV/VCR combo. I use them quite a lot. Record things on camcorder and convert it to VHS for viewing. Plus the wife uses them all the time - set to record her favorite show everyday. Tivo or simiar will replace that function when we get the money.

VHS movies still come out and you can still rent them for 49 cents at the grocery store. I don't understand the need to rent a $4 DVD, but I don't watch movies more than once a year (if that).

Mine's built into the TV. It still gets the odd bit of use, recording stuff I'm not around to watch or want to subject friends to.

I got the one I have just a little over a year ago. Since I don't really have a dvd player (I have a playstation 2, and a dvd drive on my computer) I'll probably get a combo drive when I have to replace it. I started using it again about a month ago to tape Chappelle show for a friend. I still have entirely too many vhs tapes in my collection though and I dont wanna spend the money to replace them with dvd's.

I've got several VCRs, I rarely use them now with the advent of the wonderful devices: DVD & DVR

2, one's not hooked up to anything 'cos the TV broke.
Used for recording, or watching stuff borrowed from friends who have tapes.

I gave mine to my parents so they could record cycling races for my brother.

I own 6. 2 are broken, 2 are at least 12 years old, and 2 are current.
Magnavox 4 head- dropped it while moving, hasn't worked since
OLD Goldstar 2 head- friend was tossing it out, took it, won't track right - picture rolls
Fisher 4 head - 12 years old, still going strong
Quasar 4 head - 13 years old, given to me by an aunt who said it was "broken." It wasn't. Still works great.
ProScan 4 head HiFi - 4 years old, my favorite one, works awesome
Toshiba 4 head HiFi - 2 years old, works good, but I almost never use it. Also strange problem with the clock
