How many of you would speed

Ok, so Seattle, has this Express Lane, 4 lanes long which extend from northern Seattle to downtown Seattle... During the morning, its open to Southbound only. During the afternoon, its Northbound only. Well, my sister and her happy 2001 corolla, got in right when it was open Northbound... So she drove at around 80 MPH which is 20 MPH over the speed limit...

Would you go FASTER? Would you obey the speed limit? Or would you play "I wanna crash into the speeder?"

Full speed. I don't have a radar detector hardwired above my rearview for decoration. I'd go 100, 110, 120 plus until it bored me and then cruise at 85.

I have been meaning to take pics of that install 🙂

i dont speed. its not worth the tickets and insurance hikes. I realized this after my 3rd ticket. leave early enough to get there on time. If you must speed only speed 4-6MPH over because everyone you pass eventually catches up to you when you reach a stoplight....

that stuff really works?? i could really use one for my frequent 300+ mile trec across the 101...

i usually hit 85 but i always slow down when i notice a car gaining up on me... i'm a paranoid driver but i cant stand going only 70-75

cruise control would be set to 7 over what ever the speed limit is. my front end is sloppy so i don't like to go faster than 70 anyway in the explorer.

I go full speed. But I am very paranoid after getting pulled over and ticketed by two cops in disguise. (i.e. unmarked cop cars).

same here. if i speed, im always on a constant look out on the side of the roads and the cars in back of me. and if they look like a domestic car like a black lincoln or black impala, ill slow down a bit. same if i see im going to pass a car like that. annoying stuff.... but i havent gotten a ticket yet 🙂

although, ide say, i wouldnt go "full speed". ide go like 80 or more depending on traffic. but i do that even when i dont have a express lane.

tell us more about that hardwired radar detecto acemrmac. im very interested. but since its just a "detector", it would only tell you if you are gonna get stopped but not actually avoid you from a ticket right? unless you know you are gonna get stopped so you speed up more to get away?

you drive at the speed limit???? when there is no traffic here in LA, i think everyone drives atleast 75. I go 80 most of the time.
in l.a. i could be barreling down the freeway at 80-85 mph in the fast lane and still have cars passing me on the right. i  l.a. driving!

On the highway, I typically drive as fast as I feel comfortable, which is typically 85mph-90mph, regardless of the speed limit. That's barring traffic, accidents, and cops, obviously.

Depends on where I was driving, but most likely, yes.
If the highyway ahead of me suddenly clears and my exit is a mile away, then no.

I drive at least 80 on the highway regardless of how many cars there are, unless of course traffic is slowing it down.

stupid question, most people will say yes they speed ... the problem is not speeding, it's stupid people who can't drive. if you drive according to the conditions, you will have no problem "speeding"... if you push your car beyond its limits (and your own limits) , or if you don't know the cop spots.. then yes, you will pay alot for speeding. if however you know how to drive according to your surroundings, and are careful... and you know when not to speed... then yes you can speed practically all the time without a problem...

When I drive up the I5 from central cal to San Jose/San Fran I usually go about 90 (70 is the limit)....I will go 90 the whole time I'm on that road. Pretty much everyone else is doing that speed to and the road is pretty much perfectly straight the whole way.

I hate that road though...the trucks will pull out in front of you and go 55 trying to pass another truck (2 lanes only for the most part).

Dam, am I the only one who drives like a little old lady???? 🙁
quite possibly 😉

i speed and/or don't speed, all based on surroundings and time of day
i'll often go quite fast on my way to school, because I know the timing of the lights, so by doing so I can make the right lights and make it to school on time
on the way home, I may speed but not as much

on the highways its not necessarily the same story. i speed but getting close to 90 takes some time lol.. i'll go 80 or so, but even then I get paranoid with such a light back-end (now I got sand in the back for the winter, but still)... i actually used to travel faster on the highway when i drove my sundance.. or maybe its just me getting older. when i just got my license i enjoyed going as fast as i could, no matter
still riding on luck with no tickets though.. my friend has gotten 2 tickets, each when only going 5mph+ on 40 or 45mph roads.
i almost always go 10mph over the limit on the very same roads he does, usually with traffic though
