How many of you would be interested in a DIY auto detailing guide?

I am just curious because I have been a professional detailer for a number of years and see some questions pop up here and then on this forum and I think if I made a DIY thread with step by step instructions, tips, and product recomendations, it might benefit some people.

The reason why I am asking is because I started it last week (but got busy with work) and it is pretty long, and I want to know who I should tailor it to when I finish it.

Thanks for participating in the poll. :)

I would be.

I also would be interested in a non-DYI detailing guide. It should start with "So you don't like washing your own car, eh?"

Sure, why the hell not. I don't ever get the chance to point a hose at the car, much less detail it, but it would be an interesting read.

you prolly dont even have to buy wax do ya? you just rub your hair against the car and it becomes shiney huh.

I would be more than interested. Just make sure it gets a lot of coverage, as those who may not visit too often might miss it...

Man, anyone who didn't see this comment coming is mentally retarded.

I'm sure some folks here would appreciate such a guide. Personally, I don't even wash my car (I wait for the rain).

I'm always interested in that stuff. I wash my car every week. Rinse it off most days. Lots of crap builds up when you park under trees.

I've always found it much easier to just send people to Autopia for all their detailing needs... especially since David has already written a very good ebook on detailing.

Guidetodetailing.com

Feel free to still do it yourself, I've probably posted a few small novels on the topic myself on a couple different forums... it just got easier to post a link than type paragraph after paragraph... especially since only a very few people here really want to know or would be willing to do a "proper" detailing job after they find out how many hours would be involved. ;)

Another personal process couldn't hurt...even if I pick up just one thing, it's worth it. Thanks OP!

Auto detailing is not rocket science, it's just a lot of meticulous work. You'll generally get a better result with a DIY project then leaving it to the professionals. That has been the experience of my friend and myself. If you have the patience that is.

The simple truth is that no one is going to care how your car looks as much as you do, the original owner. It should be a personal project.

REPOST!
:p

And you still haven't answered my question in that thread . . . or did you? (edit--just checked and yes, you answered with some bad news.)

It's generous of you to share your knowledge and time with ATOT. Thanks

I would be interested.

I have read a couple guides online but they are always put out by the makers of detailing products so things would be a little bias and not always best for my car/wallet.
