By that I mean already had a level head or a strong inner compass that guided you through the awkwardness of adolescence?

I guess one measure would be not giving into peer pressure and the need to be accepted at a high cost.

For me, I always had a healthy ego and even as a kid knew that things that seemed important at the time really weren't. ;)

Hmmmm. The guys I usualy admire are like that, but if that is the criteria, then I don't pass the test. :(

However...

I was born with a deep and abiding concern for others.

Does that count? ;)

I just didnt like acting childish, but somehow I dont want to act adultish, but I definetly think that I was born alot older than people my age.

I have always been ancient. (only half joking) I never did drugs, never drank before I turned 21, and for the most part, always had a clear image of where I was going and what it would take to get there. I also was basically the adult in my household from the time I was 6, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

So either I was born old or I am exceedingly boring.

Considering you make me LMAO frequently, I wouldn't classify you as boring. :)

Chrichtons Girl:

Yup. I have never smoked or even contemplated doing drugs. Just was out of the realm of possibility. I enjoyed responsibility.

I took one of those Jungian test once and of course I was scored a "TRUSTEE". Suprise, surprise.

Maybe I'm boring too. ;)

You can count me in as well.

Sounds like CG and I are the same person. ;)

Lucky for my parents, I guess. They had all they could handle with my idiot little sister. :)

I never succumbed to 'peer' pressure, but then I had a different influence...

I just watched my older sister, and then did everything she didn't do... I had the anti-christ for a sister. Drugs, booze, running around, stealing... and the list goes on. Oh, she was a peach.

Was a no-brainer for me. Just don't do what your sister does.

Where is she now? Can you say "Statistic"?

Hmmm....I could cut and paste from all of the posts above. Like:

I never did drugs, never drank before I turned 21 (oops, make that 23.) Bad home life, etc.

But, I'm not sure it was becasue I was mature for my age. I just wanted to do MY THING and not what the others wanted. I remember going out with the guys in HS and I was the designated driver before it became PC (early 60's.) I didn't like the taste of beer for one and could not see forcing myself to do so.

Same here... when I was a kid I had a lot of medical problems (one of which I still deal with from time to time), and I always had a different perspective on life than my peers... Guess I'm just as boring as the rest of you... :) I don't smoke, don't drink much, and I don't like wild parties...

On the upside, I think I'm much more philosophical than most, and I've learned quite a few unique things over the years as a result.

<< Where is she now? Can you say "Statistic"? >>

Ouch!

My wife tells me I'm an old man. I wasn't necessarily born 'old' but when I turned 17 or so I became very independent and self-supporting. I didn't like to lean on others to get things done and still don't.

When I married, I got the 'family package' so I was instant Dad and had all the responsibilities of a father of 3 at 23.

I was born with strabismus... crossed or 'lazy' eyes. I don't have binocular vision, so my depth perception sucks and I was pretty klutzy. The kids were mean as he11 to me!

After 5 operations, I looked normal, and I wanted to be accepted really, really bad. Once I got what I wanted, I was ever so disappointed! :D Now I don't care about that kind of stuff any more. What a relief. :)

<thumbs through "National Lampoon's Book of Home Remedies>

Says here that a kick from a mule should clear that right up!
