How many of you wear ties to work?

No, but a few people do. I could if I wanted to feel better than others as well. I've always felt slightly like wearing one just to show people up, but by god I'm dashing enough as it is. No need to make them feel even WORSE!

Button up shirt, cargo khakis, belt and sneakers. Ties are uncomfortable and I am happy I don't have to wear them everyday.

I've worked at my current job, and the only time I've seen ties is on consultants (their first visits anyway 😉) and at our formal Christmas parties. I hate ties!!

no. unless clients have scheduled a tour of the data center, there's no dress code.

on tour days, we're just required to wear a polo shirt with the company logo on it and kahkis.

No. No dresscode here. Since I spend a lot of time in a cleanroom I usually dress light, the bunny suits get smokin' hot.

Oh, and I don't wear a tie. My boss does, and so do a lot of the project leaders/management/executives. Business casual environment, Friday's are anything-goes, but I usually don't dress much differently (because I dress very comfortably anyways).

For the record I don't HAVE to, but I like to dress as well as possible. As the saying goes, dress for the job you want, not the job you have (necessarily)
