How many of you pre-ordered a psx2?

since I bought a DVD player over the weekend, I have no reason to buy a playstation now. Unless, of course, they release street fight ex3 for it. That would sell the console for me.

I went the other way than t4nner. I did not buy my dvd player as I expected to so I'll just get a PS2 if I can and I did not pre order one. Why give them money for vaporware? (yes I know its released but I don't want to give money out till somethings a few weeks away to release instead of a few months)

yeah, im also buying it because of the dvd player. dvd/game console = cool. cant wait for it to come out. i live in hawaii so i dunno how much consoles will be here. im pretty sure whatever stores are selling them have run out of them even before they have arrived. (stupid pre-orders) i wish they didnt pre order any and you just had to be the first come first serve type thing.

All the reviews I've read said that Street Fighter EX3 blows for the Playstation 2.

Well i decided i am not gonna Pre-ORder it. 'Cause PreOrders dont always arrive on the first day and i know my Best Buy will have a million of them on shelves the first day just like they did with Dreamcast. I'm not buying it because of a DVD player. I already own a Top Notch DvD player... They need 2 make one without a DVD so it would be like $100 cheaper!! But i think its gonna be []D[][]v[][]D.... well that is until X-BoX oR that new Game-Cube thing comes out!

a million is over exagerating as sony isn't even sending out a million to the entire us. 500,000 units are being shipped to the us, so im guessing that itll all be sold out within the first two or three days. im just guessing.

I don't care if sf-ex3 is crappy on the ps2. If it's the only console that will offer the title, then it's the only one I would get. Otherwise, if it comes out for DC, I'll definitely get a cheaper DC console.

Youch, he shouldn't have done that.. coulda sold that pre-order for a good deal of cash.

Anyways I've decided I'm not interested in one right now, but I work at Circuit City.. heh, so I may just have to pick one up and pawn it off Don't you just hate retail workers.. I bet every single of the units we get in will already be taken off the floor by employees before opening at 10 AM.

Well, I did - Pre-ordered early March at a huge software chain actually. Paid it off in full late August along with a memory card ($49.99 canadian for 8 MB! When was the last time you paid that much $ for 8 MB?), Summoner (an RPG), and Armoured Core 2 (big Mech game). They have $779.99 of my money total after tax (Canadian dollars).

The real kick in the pants? They still can't guarantee me one at launch... just 2 1/2 weeks away.

If anyone does deecide to get a PS2 at launch, forget videogame chains and such - you can try WalMart, Target, Best buy, etc... but rumours have it that those stores may recieve as few as 4 units launch day. That and I've read thread after thread about people going to camp out a la The Phantom Menace...

Why do I want one? Killer games both at launch and in the future in my opinion and DVD (supposed to be as good as a decent Sony stand alone player).

And anyway, I need one to sit beside my Dreamcast, 3D accelerated PC, N64, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy Color... OK OK, I'm a game nut!

I pre-ordered mine on October 4th, didn't have to prepay, and will
be receiving the first PS2 the store (in this case, Compusmart - a
Canadian chain) receives during the first week of November. I was
planning on getting both a DVD player and a PS2 a while ago, the
fact that I can kill two stones with one bird is certainly a bonus.
Most stores have already pre-sold 20 to 30 PS2s around where I live,
yet I was the first person to walk into Compusmart looking for one.


T4NNER, what's so special about EX3? There has to be at least
another 40 versions of Street Fighter available for the Dreamcast
and Playstation (sadly, that's hardly an exaggeration).

there will be no emulator for PS2.. why.. cuz the graphics chips currently will not support the ps2 games.. and the processor is not fast enough to render the images in real time... that's to my knowledge..

i preordered and paid off my PS2.. it'll rock the joint
