I thought that most high schools require one year of physics to graduate.

And of course any engineering course with require some sort of physics prerequisite.

5/5 on my AP, tested out of two semesters of physics. That, plus a semester of calc and bio let me graduate a semester early, and I saved some money.

Yes, and yes somewhat

Me too.

This is our freshman pre req for the University, and it is not a hard place to get into.
High School Course Prerequisites for Clemson Freshmen:

Most students accepted at Clemson have taken college preparatory programs in high school. Clemson expects applicants for freshman admission for the 2002 academic year to have completed the following courses in high school:

English - 4 credits
All four courses must have strong grammar and composition components, with at least one in English literature and at least one in American literature. College preparatory English I, II, III and IV will meet these requirements.

Mathematics - 3 credits
These include algebra I (for which applied mathematics I and II may count together as a substitute if a student successfully completes algebra II), algebra II and geometry.

Laboratory Science - 3 credits
Two must be selected from biology I, chemistry I or physics I.

Foreign Language - 3 credits
All credits must be earned in the same
language.

Social Sciences - 3 credits
American history is required. A half credit of government and a half credit of economics are also recommended.

Other - 2 credits
One of these must be a fourth year of mathematics, laboratory science or foreign language. Students interested in engineering are strongly encouraged to take a fourth year of mathematics. This course should be selected from precalculus, calculus, statistics or discrete mathematics. The second credit must be in advanced mathematics, computer science or a combination of these; or one unit of world history, world geography or Western civilization.

Physical Education/ROTC - 1 credit

Took it and no, they didn't require it to apply to engineering but there was a college-level physics course I could have AP'd out of had I been an engineering major

Yup. We used to watch these Physics videos with Paul Hewitt, the guy who wrote our book.

"Heyyyyy"
"Check your neighbor"
"HC...how come?"
"SS....same same!"

Yep, I took honors physics and AP physics. though i received a 5 on the ap test, i'm gonna retake physics anyway so that I can refresh my memory (took AP as a junior) since it's been a year since the course

You'll have to take plenty of physics to be an engineering major, regardless of whether or not you took it in high school.

I'd go ahead and take the AP Physics test if you can. Then you can decide if you want to retake physics in college for an easy A or take other classes.

Yes I took it, but I'm a social sci major, so I have no clue whether or not you need it. I could ask my roomie though.

Yes, but I placed out with my AP scores
>>

same here, but we are required to take Intro Physics, then Engineering Physics I & II. I tested out of the Intro with my high school credit.

Never did, because the Universities that I applied to didn't accept AP Physics as taking the course. They would accept it as general credits, but not for fulfilling the Physics requirements of my degree.
