how many of you have dvd-roms? and why?

Because software on DVD Rom is often cheaper and no swapping. More convenient. All software will be on DVD Rom in the next 5 years.

Imagine Visual Studio.NET and MSOfficeXP on DVDs...wouldn't that be sweet!

I never have. Probably never will unless computer games actually get large enough to be produced on them.

I have a 55" TV and HT system for my 150 DVDs. :)

I would definitely get one for the deal Wheezer got. I just watch dvd's in my living room on my Wega with my 450 watt prologic/thx Cerwin Vega! speakered a/v setup.:D
