How many of you guys have dated a woman that is "below average" in looks?

I noted that most YAGTs about dates usually include some type of description of the girl as being above average in looks and often mention that the poster considers himself to be average.

I conclude that either
A. Below average girls are not getting dates
B. The guys dating the girls rank the girls as above average no matter where they actually are

I know my poll doesn't go anywhere towards proving either hypothesis, but it could prove that my impression of the question is wrong.

What do you think?

Assume, for the purposes of the thread, that average/below average is related to the judgment of the general public, not your personal opinion.

Everyone's tastes differ. I also note that the physical attractiveness of a woman will fluctuate directly with how much I find her personality attractive. So a hot woman could become so-so if I don't like her personality and a decent looking woman could become very attractive in my eyes if I really like her personality.

For those of you who have cited the fact that people become more attractive to you when dating, that makes perfect sense. For the sake of the question, let's say it's what other people would generally call average or below average, not really how you see her.

also, a lot of times, when a guy is dating someone, they wouldn't put that person below average would they? love is blind.

I dated a girl who was considered "below average" in looks. But, she was really cool and fun to be with. I've always found myself more attracted to personality than appearance.

As for my earlier post... the woman I almost married was considered below average by many people.

This isn't a question about security, it's a question about relative appearance. If we don't define relative appearance in a way that can be understood and shared by most people, we don't have a question left. Even if your girlfriend is the most beautiful woman in the world to you, you are usually still capable of telling from an objective standpoint how she compares to the current standard of feminine beauty.
