All the way, the ONLY way to buy bacon. Little local store in our area, friendly people, and far better meat than the chain stores. It's part of a little local grocery store.

Generally, much higher quality meats at the butcher than at the grocery store... You pay a little more, but usually it's worth it.

You get way better stuff that way. I know of two good places near my parents house, but none around here.

Up here in the foothills by Sacramento there is a great butcher shop that has the best Kona tri-tip. If you're ever up this way, stop by a place called Swingles and buy that stuff. It's heaven.

I do, but its a chain store called Stater Bros. Not really a butcher, but at least they cut the meat to your specs.

Now any major asian store, whew, one whole side of store is a huge butcher shop. Seafood, all kinds of meat. Just have to excuse the files and the self-service fish.

Where is it? If it's in the foothills I'm gonna guess Auburn or El Dorado Hills...

It's right by Jackson in Amador County. It's actually right inbetween Jackson and Martell.

That's a long freaking drive to pick up some meat.

yeah, it is, and probably not worth it if you are going to drive that far. But if you are ever at a butcher shop and they have Kona tri-tip, I highly recommend it

I used to go and help my family do it ourselves when I was a kid. Now, I prefer still to buy it right from a butcher but I'll buy it in the store too if I don't want to go that extra mile.

My butcher tends the bar at the local gay pub, so you could say I get my meat from a gay bar.

If I was in upstate Wisconson (Antigo area,) I would be getting my bratwurst at the Highway 45 Locker Plant and Farmers Meat Market where they make if fresh while you wait. Thank God the folks are taking a "vacation" up near there starting this week. Just to get it from VA to the Atlanta area after they get back.
