You know how people say that life will suck after college because of work, work and more work.. that the rat race will slowly kill you.. all that.

I'm wondering if that's true for most people? How many of you guys think work > college?

Hmmm after typing all that I'm not sure if I'm wording my question correctly.. but eh whatever :p

Edit: Poll added. Purposely gave only 'Yes' or 'No'.. you have to pick one! :)

I'm financially secure and that allows me to do more stuff then I ever could as a student. I've gotten to travel (Europe, latin america, etc). Gotten to have more time with my family and friends then in school. It was constant work and school in school. Now I've got lots of freetime and I'm loving it!

College > Work, no doubt. You really cant beat a 24h/7d party. I'm definately not unhappy though. I'm married now and own a house.

Every day I am grateful to no longer be in college. Work sucks, but its better than studying all the time and stressing over grades. Plus, its fun to make decent money, own a house, be married, etc.

I miss the college atmosphere but I certainly don't miss being a student. I like getting paid for real and not having to go home from work and worry if I have homework or an exam to study for.

I think a lot of it depends on exactly what your school life is. I know mine CERTAINLY isn't 24/7 partying...

Hmmm....life after college...basically wake up, shower, go to work (50-70hrs/week), come back, eat dinner (maybe), sleep, repeat. Saturdays: sleep in, go into the office wrap sht up. Sunday: sleep in, laundry, gym, pay bills, damn the week is over.

It's better for me. I had so much free time during college but now that I am working I see my wife even more (yes, we were married during college). The best part is, we actually have money to go out and do things!

Work > College

Sure you have more responsibilites but they end at a set time (or they should, I'm the sucker who comes in on the weekends...). And hopefully you have a good enough a job where you can tell the boss that the timeline for the project just isn't realistic enough, compared to a prof who won't listen to your pleas of mercy.

Its a trade off.

When I was in school I didn't have to deal with working all the time which left more time for drinking, drugs, etc (although broke alot of the time) but I did have to deal with projects and homework.

Out of school now and I am making the money to do more things then I was doing in college but I don't have as much time to do them while working 40 hours a week.

I do miss college at times...

i enjoy it... i also enjoyed school. how much you enjoy your work depends mostly on you (both in terms of enjoying a given job, and finding an enjoyable job)

I'm exaggerating sleightly, but seriously... I'm one of those kids you hated. I never did any work but had good grades anyways. If I actually put effort in, I would have been a great student. Instead, I just went through the motions and had all sorts of fun. Learned more outside of class than in.

i enjoy getting paid regularly, and everything. but i miss my friends from college (my company doesn't have too many people my age working here... like 3 at this location =P), and truth be told, i'd rather have homework and tests, and in exchange, get to miss class whenever i wanted. if it were a nice day, i can't just skip work and go driving around like i used to in college.

That's definately true, the "flexibility" in your schedule can't be beat.

Though am I the only one who had professors that had attendance policies?
