I'm currently dual booting between Ubuntu and XP. I'm mostly on Ubuntu since I'm still learning more about Linux.

Ubuntu and Windows XP. All of my development work gets done in Ubuntu, Windows XP only for testing and because I have one Windows-only program I need to use for work once in a while.

I hate dual booting. But I have MacBook that I dual boot between OSX and XP. Well, I have XP installed, I think I've used it like 3 times. :D

Not I. There's nothing that Linux can do for me better than Windows XP. There are many things Windows XP can do for me better than Linux. Every time I've installed linux on my PC I've ended up spending more time in Windows anyway.

I did for the longest time... but it got to be too much of a PITA for me, because I was continually rebooting. I greatly prefer linux for web development work, so right now I'm just using a remote shell.

I dual boot on an old sony vaio laptop, 98SE (the one that came with the computer) and 2000. I have plans to format my desktop computer and when I do that, I'll have it dual boot to Windows 98SE and XP.

Kubuntu and XP.

I rarely use XP thesedays, only for an occational gaming session. I'm able to do everything I did in windows in linux so I don't miss it all that much.

I used to boot between Win98se, Win2K and Linux

Now I just use Win2k at home and XP at work. I have a Linux box, but have not turned it on in ages.

I have 2 XP installs, one for games, one for video/audio work. Game install is minimal with slimmed down services running, a video station requires a bit more.

Noob question about Ubuntu, because I am trying to do the same thing (DB Ub and XP).
When I burn the ISO will it AUTOMATICALLY be a bootable CD, or do I have to specify that it be a bootable CD project in nero or EZCDCreator? I tried a bootable project and the CD doesn't work/boot. I guess before asking this question I should have tried it the other way.
I used to dual boot like a sucker between Win98 and win2k tho, had some audio sampling software that only worked under 98.

If you download the ISO file, its good to go (damn you taco bell!). Just pop it in and reboot.

I wore a brown boot on one foot and a grey boot on the other foot. No more dual booting for this cowboy! :D

When you dual boot between Linux and Windows, make sure you install Windows first. Then install Linux because it will modify your master boot record.

Thanks SSP. Will give it a try right now.

Thanks cloudstrife, for some reason I had it in my mind that Kubuntu needed to go on first, and that XP went on after. That is good news because I have a good ghost image of XP for my linux test box that I can spring off of without having to reinstall.
