The roads were awful this morning, but I still braved it in to be one of maybe 10 in the office today? Usually there's around 150 people that work in my building.

Working. Wasn't planning on doing much but an "emergency" issue came up (not really, but bitching users decided it was) that a co-worker usually handles, but since he isn't here today it falls to me to do it. I was going to leave early, but this will put the breaks on that.

That sucks. I hate how users pretty much don't care about any holidays either. it HAS to be fixed NOW!

Heck my IT manager is like that. He's on vacation yet he already called a few times about issues going on here. He is about 800km from here, he should maybe keep his nose there and turn off his blackberry for once.

I'm in for a short day today. 5 more hours of not getting any work done because the whole office is bullshitting, and then I'm out of here.

Unfortunately, yeah. I came down with a cold over the weekend and used my last two days up Mon+Tue to rest and recover. But I'll leave around 3 instead of 5-6.

My sons are having a New Year's Eve party with their friends. But, one of my sons ended up getting scheduled to work at the pizza shop til they close. I think that I just may work his shift for him (3-10). That'll at least avoid a couple hours of the noise in our house.

good luck with that. my boss was hiking the grand canyon and found a spot with signal and called me to make sure i dealt with the voice mails he forwarded to me lol. some guys live for their work, even on vacation they think about it. i love my job, answer emergency calls on vacation and all, but i dont actively look for things to call in about. my email, work voice mail and such go unanswered until i get back into the office.

edit:

oh ya! im workin today. most will probably leave early tho, i may or may not stay the whole day.
