How many of you are old enough to remember stardust/pop rocks?

I believe "star dust" was the first in the 70s and pop rocks came out later.
The stuff gave me a headache.
It was rumored that if you ate an entire pack and quickly downed a can of pop your stomach would explode! :D

That never happened of course but they did stop making this stuff.

Alternatively to get the feel you could put a teaspoon of calcium carbide on your tongue. As a bonus the acetylene that's released could be used for fire spitting, etc. :D (don't really try this!)

I remember them. I preferred Star Dust of the 2, but Pop Rocks were kind of cool when you pinched a nugget between your teeth. It was a weird sensation when you felt it pop :^)

Oh that reminds me of my experiments in triboluminescence involving crunching wintergreen lifesavers in front of the bathroom mirror! :D

I want DIY pop rocks. Those little packs were always a lot of money for little substance. I made cookies from poprocks one time.

I haven't seen Space Dust since the 70s, but I got my daughter Pop Rocks in the last 2 years. I don't remember what store, but I'm sure it wasn't anything too weird.

Never tried stardust but remember snorting pop rocks after grinding it up and talk about stinging your nostrils as it popped then in your nose. :p

They still make Pop Rocks. When I was younger (90s) I had some other candy that was basically like pop rocks stuck on other candy.

I'm old enough to remember Pixie sticks, Popeye cigarettes, Cracker Jacks, jaw breakers, Bazooka Joe & Black Cat bubble gum, drinking juice out of a wax tube, and playing dodge ball with a real heavy leather ball that would make your head ring like a bell when you got hit. Also Clackers, Superball and lawn darts.

Pixie sticks were like playground drugs for me, man. :D

Pop Rock are okay, but the novelty wears off. I had a pack recently, just for nostalgia's sake.

You missed the most important candy of them all, Bottle Caps!

Walmart has big boxes for 99 cents. FUCKIN GOODNESS! I don't know if they're the most important, but damn they're good. I introduced 2 young bucks I play poker with to them recently. And they both were woofing them down. My favorite candy was PB Max, when this was taken off the market I was real upset. There's nothing else Peanut Butter wise out there that's even close to as good. This is a candy that needs to be re-released badly.

Pixie sticks were awesome. By the time I graduated though, they were throwing out bans on all types of junk food.

Did anyone else hate the taste of the Kinder Surprise chocolate? That was the most horrible tasting chocolate ive ever ate.
