Did all my Christmas shopping last month. Walmart had a crap load of toys in the clearance isle for pennies on the dollar. Hooked both my kids up for their birthday and Christmas next month for under $200.

I tried the Black Friday thing one time about 5-6 years ago and never will I do it again no matter how good the deals are. Get up early, after getting all sloshed at Thanks Giving and coming home late, to stand in line outside in the cold and rain for hours waiting for the store to open, then fight inside with people pushing and shoving, then wait in long ass check out lanes that go to the back of the store. Come home all pissed off because you got a forth of what you went to get, your tired, cold, wet, pissed off like no tomorrow, taking it all out on your family when it is supposed to be a happy golly time. Fvck that in a paper sack! And for what? To get stuff with huge ass rebates that NEVER show up, and your stuck in debt up to your eyeballs so little Johnny had to have the fvcking toy he played with for 30 minutes and never played with again.

There is not a deal good enough in the world to make me get and do that sh!t. The mindset of people that do the day after thanksgiving stuff is PSYCHO. People willing to get up at 4am and go shopping are just wired differently from normal people.

As someone who works at a big box retailer from 4am to 1030pm that God-awful, hated, despised and despicable day, I am beseeching ALL of you to stay home.

Unless compelled by an absolute dire emergency I will not go anywhere past the end of my driveway on that day.

No. It's crazy out there. But I did pitch an idea to a friend. We can go out there and set up a tent to sell food and blankets and mittens and hats to the crazy people. It's like the gold rush days, getting rich offa selling stuff to mine gold instead of the gold itself. Of course there will be people who are prepared, but what the hey, it was just an idea.

I hate how people budge, push and shove, and just act like animals at these events, and the stores do nothing about it.

im debating skipping BF this year too. I dont really need any of the deals anyways.

thats actually a really good idea. there were retailers who sold chairs/tents and stuff to people camping out for the ps3s.

just make sure you get a permit before you sell, or you may get busted by the cops or something.

what time will they be open? you may need to line up sooner than 6am if you want that westinghouse. honestly you may have to be there around 6 hours early for one of those items.

QFT! I've looked at some of the sites that have their Black Friday ads, and haven't seen anything worth going out and experiencing some of the worst behavior that humanity offers. Not much worse than a gaggle of shop-happy housewives and their fully loaded automatic credit cards...;)

I'm gonna go over to BB friday and see if they have any of those 22" Westinghouse monitors too but I ain't getting up early and if they run out, which I fully expect them to as all their BF ad specials in the past have been a joke, then I will not have to stand in an ungodly long line on my way out. :D

I bet car insurance companies HATE black friday. I can only imagine how many claims are put through on that day alone with all the pissed off people not paying attention.

I'll probably be at BB for the $379 laptop for a family member and other stuff. I'll also hit up CC for the $2.99 1GB SD cards and the cheap DVDs. If I was near a CompUSA I would have been there for the $20 SATA HD.
