I ask this question becasue at least in TAlly FL SPRINT offers DSL in very restricted areas and only up dwnlds speeds of 560 kbps(bits not bytes). If you want the best there band can offer, and that is 1.5 mbps, you have to pay a fat $100.00.
Whats up with that, peple, do they think they own us as their slaves?????:disgust:
Anyway, Comcast cable offers cable dwnld speeds of up to 3mbps for 40 to 50 bucks, dependeing on whos your TV cable provider. (uplods speeds are the same for both Spdint dsl and Comcast cable --that is as postede on their sites-- min of 128.)

So give some feedabsk people.
ITS UP TO US !!, hehe
:D

Quickfingers, i suppose that 5 mb speed is offered only to zones really close to the node, would this be true?

Cable is awesome. Up here in Canada, Ontario to be exact, I pay $36C/month for my 3Mbps Rogers@home service. While downloads vary all the time i usually average 50-75 KBps, and its been as high as 300KBps.

Cable is the way to go for your money.
I pay $29.95 using my own modem that cost me $200-$100 rebates and $75 rebate from AT&T's @home in WA. Additional bonus, I get to watch cable TV for free! A $40 bonus. Typically get ~60-150 KBytes/s but have hit 400 KBytes/s off peak hours! Unbelievable. And I can have LAn parties online too.

u Americans really do get it good for cable and DSL. here in the UK, we pay £25 per month for 512kbps download and 128kbps upload on cable, and £40 per month for ADSL with 512kbps download and 256kbps upload. the nearest we get to some of your speeds is if we get an E1 (2mb) and that costs a hell of a lot!

i'd give almost anything to get the same sort of speeds from our cable or DSL over here!

why am I a cable fan. RAW speed. Most downloads are between 300 and 600 Kbytes/sec if the site can handle it.

great pings and smooth play for multiplayer. It is just so darned fast.
