Someone showed me this site and I was surprised to find that anything >18khz was silent, even with the volume on my Sennheisers maxed. I'm 22.

edit: this is NOT a promo for the site. If there's an alternative, non commercial site let me know.

The short version, A tone outside the audible range of hearing for most people over the age of 30. This means that you can get phone calls and receive text messages in class or school without teachers hearing it.

I have something like this on my phone. It's called vibrate!

Would it hurt your ears to turn the headphone volume up all the way and listen to the 22KHz one for a little while?

I can hear all of em, but the last one sounds a little messed up. My speakers probably cannot output that high.
I'm 20

I could only hear up to 16khz. I'm 20. I'm wondering if my Logitech 5500s can not reproduce frequencies higher than that? I could hear background hiss and a little audio 'clip' at the beginning and end... hmmm
my ears might just suck. My ears can get really blocked by buildup, although got them cleaned half a year ago. And maybe I'm just deaf to those frequencies? Not sure... still want to blame the hardware before I blame my ears. :p

I couldn't hear 16, 17, or 17.4, but was surprised to be able to hear 18, 19, and 20.

I'm 38.

bwahahaha! I've got a substitute teacher tomorrow. I'll put a high frequency on, and have it set to play at random intervals during the day! ;)
