Are there any others out there like myself that dont actually like gaming anymore but just more interested in the technical hardware aspect of it? I find when im gaming im more interested in the graphics and FPS and all that jazz then the actual game itself.. technology has ruined gaming for me.

Somewhat I feel that way. I do enjoy gaming, but it gets boring for some reason and instead went on watching history channel on cable tv. But other than that, I'll just be spectating (in a game) just seeing the architectures, texture, lighting, and what not because a game (like Painkiller :D:D:D:D:D) looks amazing.

I still play old tittles like Enemy-territory, and C&C because they are still fun.

I'm also more interested in graphics and sound than game itself. Only a few games (usually car games) have changed this.

I game on-line nearly every day for several hours at a time. However I don't actually buy alot of games, or play alot of different ones.

I'm a hardware'oholic. But once I *hopefully* get into the HoMM V Beta, and once the final is released my daily post count will significantly drop.

I'm finding more and more that I enjoy the "lego" side of gaming more than the actual gaming itself. It's a lot of fun to pick and choose your parts (hardware), put them together and then load everything up, sitting back to take a look at your masterpiece.

The game itself is more like icing on the cake, or a benchmark to test my work.

NO NO NO!

Tell me I didn't get a 7800GT just to smile at my 3DMark score :p

I'm probably in the same league as I'm not even a big gamer.

The only reason I seem to be enjoying gaming anymore is because I'm playing older games.

I mean there hasn't really been anything of interest (just rehash of same ol' same ol') to come out in the past couple of years.

This Fall's looking promising though - there's actually three or four I've got my eye on :)

some people like putting on bigger intercoolers, tweaking their boost, or picking out their camshaft more than actually driving their car.
whatever floats your boat...for me buying a video card is that extra pain in the ass getting in the way of gaming.

I use a 6800nu and enjoy gaming on it. Doom3, HL2, Guild Wars. All run fine and look better than my Xbox. I going to try and use it for another year. No worries.

replay that scene. After you kill the soldiers in the downstairs room (after coming down the stairs you'll be listening to them talk about "needing back-up") go into that room and there is a doorway you can go through. It's pretty dark so be sure to look.

I was like that few years ago, then I got into consoles to actually play. Now I'm back to my PC to play, I don't care so much about raw numbers, as long as it looks good and performs well. I still follow the technical stuff for fun and work.

I used to spend countless hours playing civ3, and that game is not even 3d. After my last reformat I just refused to install it, cause otherwise I'd probably be playing it right now, even after upgrading to all the latest hardware. Well, now I just spend as much hours playing C&C, with the occasional CS:S in between. I also enjoy making my own mods for a game as much as actually playing it. HL2 was about the last decent FPS I played, even the FEAR demo didnt seem that fun to me.

Overall, I'd say no FPS has been as fun to play as the original Half-Life.

I want to join. I spend more time playing/upgrading my rig than anyone else in my clan of fellow gamers. I am only subpar to these guys. but if they need help with their system, they usually come to me. Alas I am also the one who spend a lot more than them. but hey, my 3dmark score rocks. 5600 with a 2500xp and x800xt.

Also, I am already part of the 2405fpw club what's one more? see sig

I used to feel that way, until I tried BF2. I'll be playing it until the end of time (or until BF2 dies).

I really enjoy playing the BF2 Demo, I haven't bought the game. In fact I still play the origional RTCW Beach demo all the time, because it is easy to get into some heavy FPS action. Play the QIII demo too sometimes.

I'm not really that cheap, I just feel that one of the best maps of any game is usually the Demo map, and when you buy the actual game you are only buying variations of the Demo map, some very lacking too.

I have'nt played HL2 yet, D3 and FC, yes.
