How many monitors can be hooked up in Windows98SE at the same time?

I know that windows 98se supports 2 monitors at once, but my friend wants to know if you can have 4-5 monitors hooked up at once, using the same amount of video cards to handle it. thanks for the help.

Supposedly you can use as many monitors as video cards you have installed. So if you have 4 video cards you can use 4 monitors, etc. Never seen it done, though.

I believe the limit is nine.

But I can't find the reference at the moment.

However, some multiport video cards may have two VGA ports, but present Windows 98 with the appearance of a single (very wide or very tall) monitor, which could up the limit.

I remember hearing 9 also. I think most people won't want to give up that many slots for vid cards. 😉
