I think most people have one phone that they use for their cell phone service but for those that use more than one... why?

Edited:

I have an HTC Hero for Sprint that is just there...
I'm currently using a ATT One X. I was thinking of getting a Note 2... but then the Windows Phones are coming out... and then there are the S4 Pro phones... man so many choices... too awesome.

Too many. I have way too many. For bathroom use I have an iPhone 4, for all around everyday use I have a sgs3 and sgs2 I switch out every once in a while, for work I have a droid razr which I hate with a passion, for romming and goofing with I have a sgs1.

Those are the ones I use to a certain extent. I have a drawer full of other phone that are working but just useless.

My only phone with service is the HD7. Will be getting a Note 2 or something similar this fall.
I do have an Atrix 2 for playing all the cool free shit from Amazon. Since I picked up the device for 150 used and it turned out to be in pristine condition, I'd say it was a good bargain. Imagine getting a perfect used Gameboy for 1/3 price and then free games for eternity.

iPhone 4 for personal use, Blackberry for work, HTC Surround as an alarm clock, and an HTC Incredible for fiddling with Android on.

i could be more than fine with just one phone, but:
-Gnex is my main phone
-SGS2 was my last phone, and ive been testing crap out on it, and i plan to give it to my mom soon because shes finally ready for a smart phone.
-samsung captivate - my first real phone, and it still is pretty awesome. Probably will never give it up. I also keep it around as "insurance" since i dont have it anymore (bought the Gnex from google, and have straighttalk). Anyone here have insurance on their Gnex from google?

Once i give the SGS2 to my mom, anytime i upgrade my phone, ill give her my last and sell her current, so at most i will have 2 phones.

Just one smartphone - I keep it turned off unless I want to make a call or check the Internet.

I only have service on my galaxy nexus. I still have my old droid bionic and even old original droid, but don't use them much at all. The old droid does serve as a backup for my battle.net authenticator though.

iPhone 4 for daily use.
Have a Nokia E71 as a backup from the Straight Talk SIM swap trick. Think I will sell it at end of month.

Might upgrade by end of year to Android or WP8.

3 right now. An iP5, GS3, and Photon. The iP5 as an actual phone and for text, GS3 for web, and Photon for tinkering with ROMs.

The E71 is a nice backup, but I should think having to switch from ios with all the apps you'd be upset at lack of functionality.

Currently just the iPhone but I'm watching craigslist waiting for someone to put up a Galaxy Nexus or Razr/Razrmaxx for cheap to try modern Android. I haven't used it since 2.3 and don't feel right in comparing them anymore so need to get a taste for a new version.

I've been through all of the major phones in the last year including: iPhone 4S (daily driver for most of the last year), iPhone 5 (currently daily driver), Verizon Galaxy Nexus, GSM Galaxy Nexus, HTC One X (AT&T), Samsung Galaxy S III (AT&T), and Nokia Lumia 900.

I'm looking forward to the LG Nexus, Surface RT, Surface Pro and iPad Mini.

My Atrix 2, now with ICS, is all I need. Calls, GPS, music, email. What else is there?

Technically two. Gnex for personal use, which I also get my work emails on and sometimes use for work related calls. Moto droid x is my 'work' phone, obviously that's pretty out of date and all the related accessories have been lost to it now so it hasn't been charged in months. Gave up on it when it kept going dead. Waiting on Verizon to get all their phones out this year and see about getting myself a new one, would love to get a lumina 900 but that appears unlikely at the moment.

Alright, just checked and sure enough the ICS update was available for my phone. Shame I didnt see that earlier. Now I'll only have one afternoon to play with it.

I have a Lumia 900 and Blackberry Bold 9900 that get regular use, along with an iPod Touch. I still have an old Samsung Vibrant lying around too, which I dust off from time to time.
