How many miles can your car run on full tank of gas?

Mine's a good 400-430 miles until the warning light comes on. I drive a 2003 Mazda6 5-stick.

Is this good mileage? I think it is... well?

my tank is probably 16 gallons.. it always fills up around 14.5-15.5 gallons....

be sure to list your car!

Miles to the Gallon:
My Jeep gets about 12 mpg.

My 88 Ranger got about 8 mpg.

To finish off a tank, I can do about 260 with the Jeep.

I'm buying a hybrid next I swear to God.
8 miles on a tank of gas? I don't blame you.

Personally the Sentra could hit 400 if I drove on the highway entirely. I've never done more than maybe 350-370 but I have faith in it. The maxima would run out around 500 on the highway. In city I generally fill around mid to high 300's but it always has a couple gallons left.

Low fuel light kicks on at around 10.5 gallons used in my car. That's usually around 390 miles of primarily freeway driving.

15.5 gallons, at 12.5mpg combined, or 20mpg on the freeway gives me a range of 200-300 miles, depending on conditions.

That's for my mustang. The CRX gets about 250 miles out of 9 gallons.

95 Rodeo can go about 250-275 miles on highway and barely 200 miles on local driving.

90 Accord has 50 miles on it since filling up last week... and it has used less than a 1/8 on the guage. I love having a commuter car around.

i get 18 city, 23 highway, with a 13 gallon tank on unleaded plus. if i use supreme, i get a little extra, about .5 miles more a gallon. so, about 235 city, 300 highway.

95 mazda mx-6 with 160k miles on it.

about 25mpg on my 98 accord, alot of highways, but driven during traffic time. and the air conditioner is always on.

I typically fill up my 2002 Honda Civic with 11 gallons (that is when the guage hits the top of the E). I keep track of the number of miles with each fillup (since I enjoy calculating the mpg). On average the 11 gallons gets me 330 miles in the city. However if it is fully highway miles (not freeway) that 11 gallons will get me 400 miles.

The whole tank holds just over 13 gallons so I could easilly stretch those numbers out to 390 city, 475 highway and have enough fumes to make it to the gas station.

best ever (all highway cruise control) was about 430 on a 92 Camry automatic with about 15 or 16 gal tank.

I remember those CRX days fondly. Fill up about twice a month. 😉

I have a 2001 Trooper.

Gets about 13 miles to the gallon. 22.5 gallon tank. Idiot light comes on at exactly the reserve (3 gallons) mark, so.

253.5 miles. At only 13 miles a gallon, I don't even MESS with driving w/the idiot light on. I always fill up at the 1/2 tank mark, if I can.

why does that matter if the warning light comes on? I don't think having more reserves make any difference.

why does that matteR?

Why does WHAT matter? 😕

26.4gallon tank, ~13mpg usually unless it's highway... then I can get ~16-18mpg. So average, maybe about 340+miles per fill up?

My mom's cavalier has the fuel gauge change by about 60% when you step on the gas.

Does that mean you never have to refuel as long as you keep going?

jk. I never use/trust the gas gauge, I know when its time to fill up based on the sound. Most cars the gauge reads between 1/8 and 1/4 tank if its stable when I start to hear the difference. BTW you all are refueling crazy-often, like you have 10 gallon tanks... even my '95 Escort had much larger than that. I drove from Tampa to Brooklyn (1208 miles) in under 11 hours with only 1 stop for gas & 1 stop for food. I'd guestimate I got about 700 miles on a tank pure highway mileage.

My '83 Bonneville Brougham got 25-30mpg highway but city mileage I don't think mpg would be the correct units, more like gallons per mile or perhaps yards per gallon depending on the traffic. That thing was a real tank, actually weighed enough some roads would slowly sink under it while sitting at a light. Blew a tire getting out of a parking space it sunk into once. Also when it got stuck in the UCF arena parking lot (dirt), the first tow truck died trying to pull it out. Took 3 tow trucks at once to finally move it.

Don't know and could really care less, once the light goes on my wife is the back up system and reminds me AGAIN to get gas 🙂
