inspired by the snacking thread :)

about a month or so ago, I made a switch from 3 meals to 4 meals... I kept finding myself getting hungry in the late afternoon, causing me to eat dinner as soon as I got home from work, which cascaded into nighttime hunger, so now I break my lunch in half and eat 1 small lunch at noon and another around 3-4 pm so that I can hold out and not eat dinner until 8-9 pm.

3-ish. A light breakfast (bowl of cold cereal + cup of OJ), a good lunch (varies, depending on my mood at the deli), and a light dinner (PB&J on toast most nights, nothing if I am not hungry at all).

On the weekends I hit the local diner for a bigger breakfast, I then eat a sandwich at around 4pm.

2. I like eating big meals. I know it's not good but I'm very fit and at my age I needn't worry.

I also eat two a day meals. I have a cup of tea when I get up and then eat just lunch and dinner. Sometimes on weekends I will have a light breakfast.

I know it's not recommended, but I am just not hungry when I get up.

On average I probably eat less than 2 meals a day. I rarely have breakfast, and lunch is only a "sometimes" thing. It makes dinner that much more enjoyable!

I need to eat more frequently, that's for sure.

Right now I'm doing 4/day.

There's not really anything inherently wrong with eating big meals, or 2 meals/day, or skipping breakfast etc -- as long as you don't overconsume calories over the long term because of those patterns.

I have developed horrible eating habits. I work a lot, generally leave the house around 6am. I may have a bowl of oatmeal or maybe a slice of banana bread from starbucks.

I usually end up missing or skipping lunch because my work days are so hectic. Out of a 5 day week I probably eat lunch 2-3 times, usually a sandwich.

Dinner.. Who knows. I get home around 7pm, so generally a frozen pot pie or pizza. I'm trying to change this into a habit of good salad (romaine mix) with chicken but it's tough.

I'm glad I'm not the only one... health nuts will have you thinking that everyone is getting 3 squares at least

Most days once in the afternoon, sometimes again in the evening. I cook a lot though, mostly for other people. I enjoy cooking.

3 meals and 3 snacks:

Breakfast
Mid-morning snack
Lunch
Afternoon snack
Dinner
Evening snack

Breakfast and lunch are medium-sized, but I tend to eat a larger dinner since it's after I go for a run.

2 - lunch and dinner.
Breakfast is only for special occasions (vacation, family holiday, etc)

I can't eat for the first hour or so after I wake up. I can get about two bites down before I can't get any more down. I just can't swallow it anymore. Its weird.
