Smart coatings on the borosilicate vessels detect the presence of occupants from their emission of body heat. This enables the lamps to pass full illumination of the phosphors from below. A bias override exists when the occupant would like to have the room dark, for example when having intercourse with a mate. The override is controlled by a solar photoperiod scheduler and insolation period averager for seasonal simulation.
