does anyone know how many lbs of air a wheel usually holds at proper pressure?

Depends on what kind of wheel, what kind of tire, the weight on the tire and it may depend on the wear of the tire.

If you are looking for the pressure that the tires should be at for your car, check for a label in the glove box or the driver's side door well. For a bike, it should say right on the tire.

I'm not asking what air pressure a wheel needs, I am asking how many pounds of air are in a wheel at full pressure. I mean air isn't massless so I'd assume at 30+ PSI, the air weighs a measurable amount.

Of course it varies for size of the wheel, so lets say for a typical sedan with 15 or 16 inch wheels.

There are too many variables to answer this authoritatively, but here are some rules of thumb (YMMV). For a car, something between 30 and 35 PSI is usually in the ballpark. For a road bicycle, think 100-120 PSI. For an MTB, 45 PSI will usually do.

wheels don't hold air, you need to know the volume of the tire.
weight will depend on density of the air
density will defend on tempreture and humidity
proper pressure depends on what you consider proper

overall your post is rather useless

you mean how much the air weighs inside the tire? wtf?!

why do u need to know that? how do you even find that out?

edit: and you also stated the question in a very unclear manner.

This seems OK?

One thought, did you really think that the air in a tire would weigh pounds... like more than a pound? Cause that would = teh funnay.

I didn't find the question unclear, and the nerdy side of me (ok the nerdy 3/4) is curious as well. No need to rag on him.
