How many lawn gnomes are needed

Does your lawn have gnomes? Do they stare constantly in the night with their itty bitty eyes? Do they travel with you? Does your cat keep an eye on them so they won't crawl into your bedroom and steal the breath that is rightfully his/hers?

You need enough gnomes to start a colony.
Once you lose track of them and start seeing packs of gnomelings roaming the streets, your job is done. As the gnomes lord and master you are safe. All others must bow down to the gnome prince, who is a very fickle creature. And he has little gnome syndrome.
