i just got my power bill

750 kilowatt-hours. AC almost never runs, and we were gone from the apartment for a week during that period. ~1200 sq ft apartment. does this seem normal in the rest of yall's experience?

That's above normal for 3 weeks occupancy.

Looks at past 30 days consumption: 21,034,116.8 kWh.

That's down 16% from SPLY. I get 13% of that. 😀

March 05's bill was 556. If my wife would quit leaving every damn light in the house on, it would be even less!

We have gas heat, hot water, dryer, oven/range, unvented fireplace (no blower), and unvented space heater. Makes a difference, eh?

CF's are your friend.

What's the gas price like in OH? Utilities in the east charge some outrage commodity and distribution charges. NG prices have tripled (total cost) in the past two years in MD.

Are you talking about those strange little florescent lights that screw in to an incandescent fixture? I bought about 16 of those last year at Home Depot for dirt cheap.

My average monthly gas use is 9.9MCF and 119.2MCF annually. It runs an average of $104.00 per month on the budget plan, which includes a gaggle of fees. I keep the house as warm as hell, like 73 degrees when we're home, and it's on a digital thermostat.

Yeah CF is compact fluorescent. They've tumbled in price lately but the real cheapies do tend to expire much faster than their advertised life expectancies. The ones that do last (philips) cost nearly as much as the difference you save so...

Those NG rates aren't bad. One of the joys of living closer to the midwest I suppose. I would be having serious withdrawal living that far from a coast though. 🙂

all electric house with ground source heat pump. this time of year is of course very low use as the weather is mild

from my bill, read date = 03/21/05 , KWh Used = 2868 , No. of Days = 33 , Bill = $182.61

it varies from about $140 up to about $275 in the hot summer time (july/august)
