Definitely more than 6. With 6 I can go to class with a coffee and last the whole day (4.5 hours of lecture straight). Any less and I'm guaranteed to fall asleep for 20 minutes or less (I do wake up on my own in lecture usually missing a bit of notes and then I gotta copy quickly).

Any more than 8 and I'm gonna be fine in class without any coffee.

Usually at least 2-3 hours more than I end up getting. In a perfect world I would get 9, maybe even 10 hours a night, but that never happens (even on weekends).

Needless to say, I tend to go through a lot of caffeine pills to get through most weeks...

optimally ~9 hrs, but 7+ is acceptable
any less I go into semi-zombie mode. have that too often and my immunity clearly suffers.

It's very confusing.

This morning I woke up fully energized at 5:45AM and went to sleep at around 1:30AM. But I'll probably be really tired later and sleep an additional 6 hours in a nap. I've just screwed up my sleep schedule that much, and I'm fairly surprised; I didn't know the human body enjoyed a sleep break this much, but apparently it does because I was adjusted to it only after one night w/ an alarm clock (and now I take about an 8 hour break between two long naps in the AM, one from one-to-five-ish and 10-to-two-ish).

Normally a full night's rest of 8-9 hours will let me feel full energized the following day.

I need 8~9 hours to feel really good but I usually only get this on the weekend. I get 5~6 hours most week nights
