I only have to work 40 a week.

My company is pretty laid back about it and doesn't like to overwork its employees.

bout 45 hours. Nothing too strenuous. My friends who are I-bankers though, they've sold their souls for money basically. 90-100 hour weeks is the norm with basically no overtime pay (although the banks usually pay for meals and car service home from work if you stay late.)

With auto sales where they are I'm working Saturdays pretty regular, but last week I worked 7 days and this week I got both days off.

So 48 hrs. average.

my normal work week is 40 hours,

the poll has two choices with 40.

i did not vote.

Most "office" personnel here work a 37.5 hour week,they do not get paid for lunch.

I work a 40 hour week,and Do get paid for my lunch,but,in an emergency i have to take a late lunch;
or plan ahead,and eat early,or while working.

Sometimes i can get some overtime,I worked one day,6.5 hours o/t in the past month;but its not
anything planned.{2 people took the same evening off,and i had to cover for the one}

I'm in that boat... though my hours are better (only about 70 hours a week and no weekends, ususally). Like you said, though, we don't get paid any overtime but do get free dinners and cars home.

I couldn't do that manhy hours for a long time. Whats the point in having money if you're not around to enjoy it?

Great way to earn lots of money for the government.

I work however many hours it takes to get my work done. Usually ~40.

I still made much, much more than I would if I worked 40. 40 doesn't cut it.

This poll sucks. What the hell is someone who works exactly 40 hours/week supposed to vote for? 30-40, or 40-50?

well when you enjoy what you do and like the people you work with, it's really not that big of a deal. Plus, it's great experience and there are not many other jobs that will pay college grads 100k their second year out of school.
